Cu Chulainn, The Hound of Ulster

It's that time again!  Hi-Rez has released a new God to Smite, the Celtic Warrior Cu Chulainn!   He has pretty good Attack Speed to begin with, and can also be a decent tank.  His most notable feature though is his Passive, which enables him to transform into his Berserk form (shown behind his normal form as seen above).  Depending on which form he is in, his abilities and his Ultimate changes.  He attacks with either his Spear or his Massive Arms, depending on his current form.

Passive - Berserk

Cu Chulainn's Mana, Mp5, and Mana Heals are instead applied to his Health pool.  His Mana Regen stops at 25, but he gains Mana upon Hitting with his Abilities as well as 1 Mana for Basic Attacks and when he or allies are Damaged.  After 3s above 85 Mana, he goes Berserk.  While Berserk, Cu Chulainn gains Power and Maximum Health.

Ability: Buff

Health Conversion: 10% of Mana

Berserk Threshold: 85

Berserk Duration: 20s

Bonus Health: 40+23 Per Level

Bonus Power: 5+2 Per Level

1st Ability - Barbed Spear (Ground Slam)

Cu Chulainn thrusts his spear forward, damaging all enemies in front of him and stunning less powerful minions.  Successfully hitting an enemy with this ability restores 6 Mana (to a max of 18).  Barbs from his spear stick in opponents and reduce their Healing taken for 4s.  In his Berserk Form, Cu Chulainn instead slams his massive arms down, damaging and rooting all Enemies in front of him.

Ability: Line

2nd  Ability - Vent Anger

Cu Chulainn vents his anger as superheated steam, increasing his movement speed and draining his Ferocity.  Every .5s while in this state, all enemies within range are damage by the heat.  Vent Anger does not return Mana.  In his Berserk Form, Cu Chulainn Vents Anger automatically.

Ability: AOE

Radius: 22.5

Cost: 15

Cooldown: 6s

Damage Per Second: 10/15/20/25/30(+5% of your Physical Power)

3rd Ability - Salmon's Leap (Furious Charge)

Cu Chulainn vaults over his spear, leaping to a target location and slamming it down to damage enemies around and in front of him.  Successfully hitting an enemy with this ability restores 6 Mana (to a max of 18).  In his Berserk Form, Cu Chulainn instead charges forward damaging and driving all enemies back with him.

Ability: Leap

Cost: 9

Cooldown: 16s

Final Thoughts:

After talking with several of our Smite members, and we all agreed that once players learn to control Cu Chulainn's Mana Bar, he will become a formidable foe.  Whether you build him to be a tank or to cause more destruction, I'm sure we will see much more of Cu Chulainn in the upcoming weeks!
